Kanwal Ahmed was raised in Chicago within a religious environment, where she had the opportunity to be actively involved with Islamic schools and programs. She then moved to Texas and graduated from UT Austin with a Bachelor’s degree in Biology along with a teaching certification.

She has always been passionate about working with the youth, and has two years of professional teaching experience. Since 2015, Kanwal has served as a dedicated Sunday school teacher, guiding young Muslims to develop a close relationship with their deen.

As the Youth Director at NAMCC, Kanwal leads Friday night sisters’ halaqas, coordinates diverse community events, and collaborates with esteemed scholars to strengthen the masjid’s bond with its community. Her work is driven by a deep commitment to empowering the youth, fostering a sense of belonging, and inspiring them to make a meaningful impact.
